Exploring the times

Exploring the time, hitlers and Stalin.

Is it enough to say these two were bad? Is that even the right approach. Let's instead ask why. Why did these men appear ? How are their times responsible for them, molding their views ? Mention Dali and his nonsense

A religious land, a commodity religiosity, and on repenting at the gates.

A religious land, a commodity religiosity, and on repenting at the gates.

"The more I consider the condition of the white men, the more fixed becomes my opinion that, instead of gaining, they have lost much by subjugating themselves to what they call the laws and regulations of civilized socities."

-Tomochichi , Creek Chief

The Native Americans are gone. If not completely, then what is left of them is just a small remnants, and on some levels integrated into the society as a whole. They're not here to guide us on this journey.

This perilous land,
this perilous land,
this perilous land.

this perilous land that we do not now how to navigate,
and neither do we know or not know how to take care of.

To those who are calling for an end of days they are right. And to those who are calling for change and a better world they are also right. If you can imagine it, you are right for the world always spins in that direction.

Our guides are not here to take care of our journey, to show us how to take care of the land we inherited, or more rightly took and stole by force.

Its time to quit leaving our destinies in the hands of politicians and laws, and take them and place these same destinies into our hands, pursue them with all our hearts and dreams. You do not strive for your destiny until you feel a shiver in every inch of your skin and body.

We need to pause, to take a deep breath, to take a second, then take another... and then to think of all the evils, the sins we have committed just during that one day. And then the whole week, and then a month. Repent. Repent.

And slowly wave away our blues, our troubles leave us slowly, and all the world around us aligns to support us, to lift us with the spirit of the trees, the breeze that passed through ages to reach us today.

Godlessness, the new fascism?

Godlessness ? The new fascism ?

There is something eery coming down the pipe. Economies crashing. Soulless capitalism. The destruction of nation states and nationalism.

Tapestry of History

Blog

Why did socialism not work in Russia? Because in a country with thousands if years of history with tsar rule the socialist principles eventually went to what the country knew how to do best having a strong leader.

The Chinese dynasties show why China even today plays for the Long term.

In USA a country of white slave owners and English colonialists. They have the most freedoms.  The freedoms were gained directly because of struggles that also responded to these conditions. So conditions and zeitgeist of the country is foremost important before any sort of idealolgy pt strategy. Can be tailored to it.

Idealogies and systems are like the hat it doesn't always fit

long picture

The problem, Pete, is that no-one may take enough US dollars to fill demand. That’s the best case problem.

I think that the current oil price manipulation has the purpose of preventing capital from ever flowing back into the oil patch, or at least, not fast enough. Recall that the IEA warned that oil/gas investment had to exceed $1.5T per annum to maintain supply. That is no longer happening. When investment is sufficiently low, it will cripple production for many years, possibly forever. That, I think, is the plan.

Of course, whether that really is the plan is unknown. If it is the plan, whether it will work is unknown. And the state of our financial system in the future is unknown – will it be sufficiently robust to support international trade?

Sauer–This all makes sense, but it begs the question: whose plan is it? Saudi Arabia’s? Exxon’s?

I suspect that the Saudis helped Obama to think of it for himself. When approached, they held out for, and got, a commitment to throw the frackers under the bus. Big Oil stands to gain at the expense of Little Oil, and Wall Street gets a chance to profit from instability. USA gets to weaken Russia with low oil prices, just like 1980. UK, of course, is the deck of a willing aircraft carrier.

Russia gets to watch Wall Street’s towers shake (and maybe fall), her oligarchs get to squeeze the oligarchs from the 1990’s, and she positions herself to lead a new international financial system. China gets lower oil prices for a time, just about until her own investments in central Asian oil pay off. In the meantime China buys gold and plays a very long game.

Of course, Saudi gets much higher oil prices sometime soon, and gets leverage which might lead to a pipeline straight into Europe. They also make it impossible for anyone but a nation state to do real oil exploration, so while the majors are off gobbling up the minors, the majors are losing the future.

Everybody THINKS he wins. Soon we find out who is playing chess and who is playing snap.

Just my thoughts. Could well be wrong. I welcome a deeper analysis.

Nemzhov

Far from being out of the woods.

The liberals, or the smart ones can't just blame Putin. They will stray from this line as soon as they are safe to do so.

This is a kindling attempt to stoke the fire and force regime change in Russia using the fifth column and mustering more support from it.

In my opinion, this ritual killing of Nemzov has a propagandic element that was easily seen when it broke as it was on every media outlet in the world. The eery image of it being cross shot from the kremlin had a startling effect.

The other element of it is it makes it dubious of how does the regime react to such an event. The reaction is key as you're on stage now with the honus of not to mess up and handle the investigation well and what follows well.

All in all it's an easy offensive regime change tactic, and not all that easy to defend oneself against. Those were my thoughts upon following it.

Military expert on ukraine

In Ukraine, many are convinced that Ukraine needs American weapons, because without it we cannot achieve the ceasefire.

You cannot achieve a ceasefire with the armed forces. You simply don't have any.

When can we achieve something? Sanctions against Russia are not particularly enhanced. It begins to attack harder. So everyone sees the solution in armed resistance.

You see, these are the illusions of the Ukrainian government.

The real problem in Ukraine is that no one - neither Poroshenko nor Yatsenyuk - don't want to sign a real agreement on a compromise with Russia. They don't want to realize what had happened, and to give some political status to this militia. They are very afraid of the people, a third Maidan.

Indeed, the probability of the third Maidan exists.

The fact is that the West in Ukraine is not allowed to make serious adult decisions in this environment. They just keep saying "yes" to Ukraine.

Because of this, Ukrainians continue to live in the illusion that they with their fighters can stand against one of the largest armed military in the world. This can not happen. My colleagues in Russia, associated with the General staff, are well aware that any day, if Russia wants to, it can completely destroy the entire UAF in 72 hours. They have such plans.

We understand that.

That won't happen, because Russia doesn't want to. But people need to understand that the problem is not with anti-tank missiles. If we will send anti-tank missiles, then Russia will send something else - aircraft, artillery, simply will wipe the area from the face of the earth.

Should we recognize these territories are not Ukrainian, to abandon them?

What did the conflict reach? These territories are really lost. The only result that I see over the past year, is that Ukraine has been losing territory and soldiers. And there are no improvements. Sanctions have not changed the policy of Moscow.

Why do they attack? Because the Minsk agreements did not give Russia anything. Russia believes that it made a serious mistake when it signed an agreement in Minsk. Ukraine had no sincere interest to observe Minsk protocol. Plus everyone knows that in addition to this protocol, between Kiev and Moscow, there was the second protocol signed on September 19, where there was a map of control between the UAF and the militia. According to this map Ukraine had to give them Donetsk airport and areas that Ukraine was not going to ever give up. It's all well known. Ukraine was in no way going to give up, despite the fact that it signed the agreement. Nobody wants to go for a real compromise in Ukraine.

Open letter of the members of the French Resistance to President Hollande

Open letter of the members of the French Resistance to President Hollande

The voice of France, the UN and Russia, an open letter to Monsieur le Président de la République

Monsieur le Président de la République

Fascisme is reemerging everywhere in Europe, singularly in countries which have been freed from the USSR where powerful and dark forces are using NéoNazism as an ideological vector for their national emancipation and their territorial sovereignty .In these circles and beyond them, the Ukrainian crisis, which is politically and diplomatically overexploited to undermine the Russian Federation is used as a pretext for multiple attempts to rehabilitate the Third Reich, especially in the Baltic Countries, where monuments commemorating the 1945 victory are often desecrated with the covert or overt complicity of the concerned governments.

The Western world is in no way immune from these dangerous overflows. In defiance of it's historical status, the European Union tolerates within itself, political movements which have been able, with impunity, to send to the EU Parliament, legally elected deputies, although self styled Nazis.

In face of this situation, which is fed and worsened by a never ending economical crisis on the old continent, Russia submit every year to the general assembly of the United Nations, a resolution calling for the refusal of « this glorification of Nazis and their collaborators who, waiving Swastika banners and marching with their right arms held up, are overtly promoting xenophobia and racial superiority.

Unfortunately, The United States of America, Canada and the Marshall Islands, systematically oppose this text and the European Union - among which is France-, choosing in that respect to renew with the disastrous spirit of Munich, chose to refrain.Opponants and abstentions, put forward as an excuse... Respect for freedom of expression, to justify their decisions. Under the same pretext, they block the passing of similar decisions within the OSCE. This attitude is pitiful and dangerous and can be considered as a signed blank paper for the Fascists to keep on with their criminal activities.

This year, the pretext put forward for a 'no' vote or abstention to the resolution, is the Ukrainian crisis and the « annexation » of Crimea. Putin should be made to understand that the West won't tolerate an expansionist Russia. This is of course only a pretext because in November of 2013, as the Ukrainian crisis was just unfolding, their was no separatists claims of any sort in Eastern Ukraine or in Crimea. The vote had been the same. Most noticeable is the 2010 vote, during which the Russian President was Medvedev, known to be closer to the West than the actual President.

The fact that the Russian diplomatic initiatives are thus subjected to contempt is unacceptable. The tremendous death toll paid by the USSR during the second world war, morally forbid it. Resistants in Europe and especially in France, know what they owe to the Red Army. Without the decisive victories over Hitler, the world battle for liberty wouldn't have been possible and the allies would have never landed in Italy nor on the Coast of Normandie. Must it be reminded, that on the D Day, June the 6th of 1944, the Werhmacht was collapsing everywhere on the East front and that Hitler had thus already lost the war ? Must it be reminded that, without the Soviets sacrifices, France would have never recovered it's freedom ? Must it be reminded that without Moscow, Stalingrad and Koursk's victories – the mains Nazis military defeats- the world could never have freed itself from fascism and the United Nations Organisation would have never existed ?

We would also want to remind you, mister President, that during the spring and summer of 1942, the General De Gaulle had, in vain, tried to persuade the allies to open a « second front ». If the General De Gaulle had been heard, millions of people in the Soviet Union and in the concentration camps, wouldn't have lost their lives. Must we remind you that the landing in France as suggested by the General de Gaulle, was replaced by a landing in North Africa and that the first version of the now famous American « regime change » took place at that time, the Americans having chosen the General Giraud instead of De Gaulle.

France, which as a member of the Security Council, have a right of veto, must not forget history and the lessons it teaches. France must not forget the responsibilities which have been bestowed to her by the fact of having been able to sit at the winners table. France must not forget that without the resistance movement, without the commitment of the General De Gaulle saving the honor of our country from London, France wouldn't enjoy the diplomatic weight and prestige which it has acquired. Consequently, it's voice, which is heard, when relying on historical principles, used and exalted by the National Resistance Council, it's voice must be heard in the fight against the rebirth of Nazism, which is to say, in fact, it's own values. Values that you invoked during your multiple public interventions, especially during the commemorations of the landings in Normandie and Provence.

As a Head of the State, it thus belongs to you to break the guilty and spineless caution of a Europe which flimsiness in foreign affairs never stops to tarnish the brilliance.

Consequently, the signatories request from you, that next year, the signature of France be added to those of the nations having already backed the resolution of the Federation of Russia.

A new approach on life, on being less violent every day.

Violence in the classic sense is an action directed at another being with the intention to do harm. Wikipedia's definition is as follows, "the intentional use of physical force or power, threatened or actual, against oneself, another person, or against a group or community, which either results in or has a high likelihood of resulting in injury, death, psychological harm, maldevelopment, or deprivation" . The latter part of that sentence begins do describe the form of violence few are familiar with, the indirect variety.

Indirect violence as I understand it is causing harm with actions you would not consider violent in today's society. When you steal, hurt, or murder another person the society usually deems this a violent act and punishes you. But are they correct in doing so, atleast in the system of justice and punishment that they claim to abide by?

An interesting piece in an article I read had to do with the indirect variety of violence. The market system we currently have in place works on this concept as follows. When one purchases or trades in certain commodities you drive the prices of goods up or down. In certain parts of the world that means the price of wheat, corn, and sugar. These effects trickle down to other parts of the world, and when the effects reach a poorer country, you are indirectly hurting, starving, and sometimes killing another individual.

Companies and individuals that trade in commodities have the ability to drive up the price of rice, corn, and sugar which in turn forces people in the other parts of the world to starve. And we individuals citizens do it on a smaller scale daily. These violent acts go on , mostly unnoticed. The companies or citizens do not go to jail for these acts, but other violent crimes result in jail sentences. These crimes tend to be what the current government or economic masters deem inappropriate, which essentially is just deemed legal by the current establishment.

On social despotism.
